Bukhara, Uzbekistan
Bolo Hauz Mosque is one of Bukhara’s most elegant historic landmarks, built in the early 18th century opposite the Ark Fortress. Its main attraction is the beautifully painted wooden entrance portico, supported by tall carved columns that reflect in the nearby pond. Once used as the emir’s Friday mosque, it offers a quieter, more intimate contrast to Bukhara’s larger monuments. Visit for its refined craftsmanship, photogenic setting, and glimpse into the city’s ceremonial past.
