Parliament Building

Hungary’s Parliament Building dominates the Danube with neo-Gothic spires and a symmetrical riverside facade. Completed in 1904, it houses the National Assembly and showcases national treasures, including the Holy Crown of Hungary. Guided tours (available in multiple languages) reveal ornate chambers, stained glass, and grand staircases. The exterior is best appreciated from the opposite bank or on a river cruise, especially at night when illuminated. Visitors interested in architecture, history, or photography will find it rewarding; those short on time can still enjoy impressive views from Kossuth Lajos Square and the river promenade without entering.
