Atik (Stara) džamija

Atik (Stara) Mosque is the oldest Islamic monument in Bijeljina, originally built in the 16th century and carefully reconstructed after wartime destruction. Set near the town center, its simple Ottoman architecture, slender minaret, and peaceful courtyard offer a quiet pause from urban bustle. Visitors come to appreciate continuity of faith and community resilience, as well as to learn about Semberija’s multicultural past. Modest in scale, it’s best combined with a walk through Bijeljina’s core. Dress respectfully, and check prayer times; non-worshippers are typically welcome outside services.
