About Pergamon Museum

The Pergamon Museum on Berlin’s Museum Island showcases monumental ancient architecture and art under one roof. Highlights include the reconstructed Ishtar Gate of Babylon, the Market Gate of Miletus, and masterpieces from the Classical Antiquities, Near Eastern, and Islamic Art collections. Exhibits emphasize original scale, context, and craftsmanship, offering a rare sense of ancient urban spaces. Renovations can affect access, so check current openings and timed-entry tickets. Ideal for visitors interested in archaeology, ancient history, and immersive reconstructions; less essential if you prefer smaller, focused galleries or modern art. Plan 1.5–2 hours, longer for deeper exploration.
