Bergen, Norway
Ulriksbanen is Bergen’s aerial tramway to Mount Ulriken, the city’s highest peak (643 m). In six minutes, cabins carry visitors from the outskirts of town to panoramic views over Bergen, the fjords, and coastal islands. At the summit, you’ll find marked hiking trails, a viewing platform, and a café/restaurant. It’s a good choice for limited time or mixed abilities, offering alpine scenery without a strenuous climb. Weather changes quickly; clear days reward with expansive vistas, while clouds can obscure views. Operates seasonally and may close for wind—check schedules. Combine with a hike across Vidden to Fløyen for a classic route.
