Beijing Zoo, one of China’s oldest and largest zoos, is best known for its giant pandas and extensive collection of native wildlife, including golden snub-nosed monkeys and Siberian tigers. Set beside lakes and classical gardens in Xicheng District, it offers a mix of animal exhibits, historic architecture, and a popular aquarium next door (separate ticket). It can be crowded, especially on weekends and holidays. Visit if you’re interested in Chinese species, traveling with children, or pairing it with nearby attractions like the Beijing Planetarium. Allow 2–3 hours; early mornings are quieter.
Opening Hours
