Bari, Italy
Teatro Petruzzelli is Bari’s grand opera house, rebuilt after a devastating 1991 fire and reopened in 2009. Italy’s fourth-largest theater, it blends elegant Belle Époque architecture with excellent acoustics and a varied program—opera, ballet, symphonic concerts, and visiting artists. Inside, crimson and gold interiors, a painted ceiling, and a horseshoe auditorium evoke classic European theaters. Centrally located near the Murat district and the seafront, it’s easy to pair a performance or guided tour with city sightseeing. Visit for high-quality productions, cultural history, and a striking example of Bari’s resilience and artistic identity.
