Hospital de Sant Pau, a UNESCO-listed Modernisme complex by architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, blends stunning Art Nouveau design with social history. Built between 1902 and 1930, its pavilions, mosaics, stained glass, and landscaped courtyards were conceived as a “garden city” for healing. Guided routes through the restored historic campus reveal medical innovations and Catalan craftsmanship, while exhibitions explain its evolution from hospital to cultural center. It’s less crowded than nearby Sagrada Família, offers excellent photography, and suits visitors interested in architecture, design, or urban history. Allow 60–90 minutes; tickets and timed entry recommended.
