Lumphini Park is Bangkok’s green lung, a 142-acre oasis of lawns, lakes, and shaded paths near the city’s business districts. Locals come to jog, practice tai chi, and paddle boats, while visitors enjoy respite from traffic and heat. Expect monitor lizards, open-air fitness areas, and weekend markets or free concerts in cool season. Early mornings and late afternoons are most pleasant. Easily reached by MRT (Lumphini or Si Lom) and BTS (Sala Daeng), it’s ideal for a relaxed walk, picnic, or people-watching between temple visits and shopping. Note: limited shade at midday; no alcohol allowed.
