About Erawan Shrine

Erawan Shrine is a revered Hindu shrine in central Bangkok, dedicated to Phra Phrom (the Thai representation of Brahma). Set beside luxury malls and busy intersections, it offers a vivid snapshot of urban spirituality: incense, flower garlands, and traditional Thai dance performances commissioned by worshippers. Visitors come to observe living religious practice, make offerings, or pause amid the city’s rush. It’s easy to fit into a downtown itinerary, best visited early morning or late afternoon. Note: it’s a compact, often crowded site; plan a short stop rather than a lengthy visit. Photography is allowed; be respectful of rituals.
