Athens, Greece
Lycabettus Hill is Athens’ highest point, a limestone peak rising above the city’s center. Visitors come for sweeping views of the Acropolis, the Aegean, and sunset-lit neighborhoods. Reach the summit by a steep path through pine trees or via the funicular from Kolonaki. At the top, find the small Chapel of St. George, a café, and an open-air theater hosting seasonal concerts. It’s most appealing for panoramic photography and a quieter perspective on Athens. Consider the climb’s incline and summer heat; late afternoon or evening visits are most comfortable and photogenic.
