Andong, South Korea
Buyongdae Cliff is one of Andong’s most scenic viewpoints, overlooking the traditional Hahoe Folk Village and a broad bend of the Nakdong River. This 64-meter cliff is valued less for dramatic hiking than for the calm, panoramic view it offers of a UNESCO-listed cultural landscape. Visitors interested in Korean history, photography, or quiet nature will find it especially rewarding. It is best paired with a visit to Hahoe Village, since the cliff’s main appeal is seeing the village and surrounding countryside from above.
