Jones Point Lighthouse, in Alexandria’s Jones Point Park, is one of the last remaining riverine lighthouses on the Potomac and the only surviving lighthouse in Virginia. Built in 1855, it once guided ships along busy trade routes and now serves as a compact historic landmark near the waterfront trail. Visitors come for its maritime history, scenic park setting, and easy access to walking and cycling paths beneath the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. It’s a worthwhile stop for those interested in local history or a short, quiet detour outdoors.
