Careless Reef, off Hurghada (Al Ghardaqah), is a twin-pinnacle coral formation known for strong currents, healthy hard corals, and abundant fish life. Divers often encounter schools of jacks, barracuda, and occasional reef sharks; macro life hides in crevices. The site’s notoriety for resident moray eels has eased, but sightings remain likely. Depths range roughly 10–40 meters, with exposed plateaus suiting experienced divers, especially when currents pick up. Visibility is typically good. Access is by boat; conditions can cancel trips. If you enjoy dynamic drift-like dives with vibrant reef structure rather than calm beginner sites, Careless Reef is rewarding.
